“…so the Lord surrounds His people…”

Those who trust in the Lord are as Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people from this time forth and forever." I am fortunate to live in a home surrounded by the mountains. I feel safely tucked inside the "Eagle’s Nest" surrounded by God’s Presence in an earthly home I know He provided for me and many others to enjoy. Yesterday some clients and I participated in a race in the western North Carolina mountains. I was very aware of being surrounded by God’s Presence during the race, and before and after. I was so blessed listening to Julie, a dear friend and client, telling of His Presence surrounding her and hearing Him speak to her as she met the challenges she faced while running. I ended up finishing the race with a young man who was trusting in the Lord with his life also, and we knew the Lord surrounded us with His Presence as we encouraged one another in Him. How wonderful it is to live life trusting in the Lord no matter where you are and no matter what you are doing or going through. There is nothing greater in life than not only being surrounded by His Presence, but having His Holy Spirit inside of you guiding and giving strength and peace....

“But as for me, the nearness of God is my good.”

Psalm 73:28 "But as for me, the nearness of God is my good. I have made the Lord God my refuge, that I may tell of all Your works." Having lived six decades of life now, i am so thankful to proclaim with David the nearness of God is my good in life. Nothing compares to experiencing the nearness of my God as I continually take refuge in Him. His love and faithfulness is beyond description. I must tell of His works. My heart and mind is full to overflowing with love for the love of my life. I cannot keep quite about the great things He has done for all mankind! Oh, that we would have eyes to see, and ears to hear, and hearts to receive His unfailing love in this forever failing world with forever failing people such as myself. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8) In His love. “…because they take refuge in Him.”

Psalm 37:39-40 “The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in time of trouble. The Lord helps them and delivers them; He delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in Him.” My spirit thirst for these words of living water this morning. There is no lasting comfort and peace for me apart from the promises of God, because I know they are true. Jesus answered the all important question man seeks the answer to: “What is truth?” He answered, “Thy Word is truth.” (John 17:17) It is absolute truth. His Word will endure forever. My salvation comes from Him; it is not of myself. My strength in time of trouble comes from Him. I cry out to Him for help and deliverance knowing He will hear me, because I take refuge in Him. Where are you seeking help from this morning? Who are you crying out to? For Him to be your strength and salvation you must seek refuge in Him alone. His name is faithful and true! (Revelation 19:11) In His love. Teresa Roberts Masterpiece Fitness 276-237-6680 “For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting and His faithfulness to all generations.” (Psalm 100:5) These are comforting words as I look upon each precious life God has placed in my family. I was overwhelmed by His goodness, lovingkindness,...

“So that in Me you may have peace…”

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me You may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world." In John chapters 13-16 it is red letter which means Jesus is speaking. Here He is speaking to His disciples then and to all who have became His followers afterwards. In John 17 He is speaking with His Father and ours. After teaching and instructing His children He begins to pray for them, and we are allowed in on His conversation as He bears His heart for us before going to the cross out of obedience to His Father. The previous chapters are instruction from the Son of God before leaving those He loved. Those instructions are for us today as much as they were for them over 2000 years ago. The Word of God is alive, and it gives life to those who have ears to hear and hearts to receive. Jesus’ instructions will bring you peace as you encounter the tribulation that comes from living in this world. May I encourage you this morning to go to the mentioned chapters in John? Allow the Son of God to give your heart courage and peace as only He can give. Truly He overcame for all of us at the cross and leads us to triumph in...

“…but kept entrusting Himself to the One who judges righteously.”

1 Peter 2:23 "And while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously." It comes so natural for me to fight back when provoked. I suppose it does for most of us. We want justification and payback when we have been betrayed and treated wrongly. However, this is not the example our Savior left us. I realized from scripture when doing this, I am not entrusting myself to the One who judges righteously. When we allow ourselves to become judges of others we can only see from our perspective. It takes the Holy Spirit and God’s Word to lead us into all truth. There is only one righteous Judge, and He will judge each one of our deeds according to the motives of our hearts. Sobering thought isn’t it? We must entrust ourselves to Him who makes no mistakes, and is perfect in all His ways. We can rest in His holiness and righteousness, but most importantly His perfect love for all mankind. His justice system is foolproof and full of mercy and grace to those who confess their faults and desire His forgiveness and cleansing. That my dear brothers and sisters is a "Supreme" Court Judge! Let us entrust ourselves to Him alone for judgement of ourselves and others. In His love. Teresa...
