“…so the world may know I love the Father…”

"But so the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here." John 14:31 I love John chapters 14-17, because Jesus is doing most of the talking. He came to set us free from the letter of the law and religion. He came to reveal to us how much He loved His Father! Jesus tells His disciples and us, I do exactly as my Father commands to reveal my love for Him even dying on a cross to become our Savior. God so loved us that He gave His Son, but Jesus gave Himself to reveal love and obedience is synonymous. You cannot divorce one from the other. Jesus tells us in John 14:15, "If you love Me, you will keep my commandments." The difference in religion and "true" Christianity is we obey out of love. That is why His commandments are not burdensome. When we truly love someone our greatest joy is pleasing them. You cannot experience love without developing a relationship of receiving and giving. I first had to receive from my Father to experience His Son and His Holy Spirit. I encountered love I had never known. As a result I began to obey His ways, because I was and am madly in love with the Trinity. My love and desire to please...

“…and blessed is he who trust in the Lord.”

"He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord." Proverbs 16:20 This is a simple verse, but loaded with truth and wisdom for life. Giving our attention to God’s Word produces goodness in our lives because God is good. Note I am not talking about always living in good circumstances, but we may experience good in the midst of bad if we are more attentive to the Word. Sadly most Christians are more attentive to Facebook and other social media that does not always hold a promise of finding good. Secondly, we are blessed if we place our trust in God, and not ourselves or other people. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is perfect and cannot lie. His words are always true and faithful. There is only one who is totally trustworthy. May our attention be focused on His Words of instruction to His own, and all are invited to be His own. May we place our trust in Him alone in everyday living recognizing it is the only safe place in a very unsafe world. In His love. He continues to enable us to...

“In all your ways acknowledge Him…”

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn away from evil." This is a foundational verse in my life. It is a verse I try to apply daily. There is great wisdom and instruction here. We are to trust God and acknowledging Him in all our ways first, rather than leaning on our own understanding and deciding which actions to take. If we do, we are promised guidance and straight paths in life. When we choose otherwise, we are substituting human reasoning for divine counseling! It requires waiting on God til we hear clear direction. While praying, ideas will come to our mind, but many times it is our emotions, and not the Holy Spirit. When we allow human reasoning to take over, we are trying to achieve a supernatural life of peace in a natural way. It will not happen. May I encourage you today to acknowledge God first in every small and big decision of life, (it says in ALL your ways) so He can begin to make your paths straight? It will require self control and patience, but the results will be divine counsel verses human reasoning, which produces a supernatural life...

.”…know the God of your father.”

"As for you, my son, Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a whole heart and a willing mind, for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him, but if you forsake Him, He will reject you forever." Here we see King David’s last words to his son, Solomon. What great instruction for Solomon. The greatest gift we can impart to our children is our faith in our God. Even though we have stressed when we die we can’t take anything with us, it is not true.for followers of Jesus Christ. His sacrifices enables us to take our children and grandchildren with us if they are willing. Everyone must choose for themselves. Our responsibility is to share our relationship with our God with them. There aren’t any perfect parents or perfect children, but we can all share a perfect God and the perfect love we have an invitation to bask in continuously. Let us press on to know our God, to serve Him with a willing mind, and a whole heart. It secures our lives eternally with only temporary separation at death. To choose otherwise renders eternal rejection and separation forever. Let us ponder the most important decision we all are faced with in life. God so loved us He gave us...

“Apart from Me, you can do nothing.”

John 15:5 "I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing." "As long as I abide in Christ, nothing can hurt me." Martin Luther, 1535 How had Martin Luther received this revelation of truth? Obviously he had suffered great pain from the actions of others. Probably you have too. Who was hurt, betrayed, or rejected more than our Savior? Yet, He alone has the antidote to the heartache we suffer in this world. It is to "abide" in Him. This has been my life pursuit, but sometimes the circumstances of life darken my world, and I lose sight of the Light of the World. I must get my eyes looking up into the face of the Truth, the Light, and the Way, until I am back in the arms that carry me, and heal my wounds. If only I could truly learn to stay there as Jesus commanded. Let us point one another to the Vine of Life knowing we must stay engrafted to bear much fruit. We cannot do it in our own strength no matter how hard we try. For apart from Him, we can do nothing. Jesus said so. In His love. Teresa Roberts Masterpiece Fitness...
