Isaiah 41:10
"Do not fear, for I Am with you; do not look anxiously about you, for I Am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you. Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."

Even though this is a familiar verse it took on new meaning as I am heading out this morning to do the Virginia Challenge Triathlon as an individual once again. It has been 10 years since I last did it on my own. I have been participating on teams for the past several years. Even after spending months of hard training I began anxiously looking about me. There are more variables to consider. Bikes get flats, possibility of wrecking, kayaks turn over, take in water…to name a few.
These are reasons I love running. It is uncomplicated, and you have control. It also gives a fair playing field. It really doesn’t matter if you show up in high dollar running shoes. You win based solely on performance. Not so with bikes and kayaks.
As I began to contemplate all the things that could happen I needed to hear my Father’s voice. I needed a Word from Him to have peace about today. That is when He gave me Isaiah 41:10. I reminded Him and myself apart from Him I can do nothing. Not only that, apart from Him I don’t want to do any thing.
My fear is relieved as my focus is on my Father and His faithfulness in my life. My strength comes from Him. He will be my help as always. I am not alone. He will uphold me with His righteous right hand. You know He will do the same for you. He doesn’t have favorites.
In His love.

Normally I don’t do bumper stickers, but I think I will display this one we were given at packet pick up yesterday evening. I will have completed 61.2 miles of continuous biking, kayaking, and running! Will update everyone tomorrow morning. 🙂
