John 12:43-43
"Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, for fear they would be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men more than the approval of God."

As I read these verses this morning I asked the Holy Spirit to purify my heart to seek His approval above man’s. How easy it is to fall into the deception of man’s approval. In reality it validates nothing. How many true followers of Christ have been put out of churches who measure and commend themselves among one another rather than the teachings of Jesus himself.

God Word tells us in 2 Corinthians 10:12:

"For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but those who measure themselves by themselves, and compare themselves with themselves are without understanding.

A few more verses down in 18 we read:

"It is not he who commends himself that is approved, but he whom the Lord approves."

In Galatians 1:10 Paul ask,

"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ."

I would much rather be a bond-servant of the God who sacrificed His only Son for me that I might gain imputed righteousness from Him, because I have none of my own; Neither does any other woman or man. How foolish we are when we look to each other rather than the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
In His love.
