1 Peter 4:1
“Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lust of men, but for the will of God.”

May we learn to live our lives in the Spirit according to the will of God, not pleasing our own flesh or the flesh of others. I have found for myself and observing others, that what Jesus exemplified during His time on earth is true. My flesh is crucified through the sufferings of the flesh. It is a small price to pay when we like Paul can proclaim, “More than that, I count all things as loss for the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus, my Lord.” (Philippians 3:7-9) If He truly is our Lord, then we know there is no price too great when we gain more of Christ. It is in our times of suffering we have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart in desperate need to receive revelation of His unfailing love and compassion. It is during these times no one or nothing else will do. Only the love of our Father can bring peace to troubled minds and hearts. Each time I come through the fire with more of Him and less of me I cease from pleasing myself, and I live more for the will of God. Let us arm ourselves for this purpose, and follow the only One worthy to follow.
In His love.
