John 17:24
"Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for your loved Me before the foundation of the world."
When I was a mother of 4 children 6 and under, the Father gave me John 17 to show me His mother’s heart for His disciples. He wanted me to know He understood my feelings and struggles as a mother. God the Father created a mother’s heart. He totally understands our love for our children. He gave me my mother’s heart.
How I long for my children especially at Christmastime. My memories of past Christmases are filled with sharing with them the birth of our Savior, and teaching them the wonder of it all. The wonder of it all is how much we are loved by God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit!
Once again the Savior of the world, Jesus, came to me through His Word and the Spirit this morning, and showed me how He shared with His Father His heart longing for us, His children, to be with Him so He could share with us how much the Father loves Him, and He wants us to be where He is with the Father.
I am so thankful I am never alone in my longings. Because my Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are always here to comfort, fill my voids, and give me peace and contentment in any season of life.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emanuel! God is with us!

One of the highlights of the season is sharing the Nutcracker Ballet with my children. I met my daughter, Sarah, and my 3 granddaughters, Caitlin Joy, Anna Faith, and Sarah Grace, in Winston Salem, NC for the Stevens Center’s performance. The girls arrived in their ballet slippers and carrying their nutcrackers! 🙂 The weather was so pleasant we were able to dine outside which was an added pleasure for all.
