Matthew 11:29
"Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."
What a beautiful invitation extended to us by Jesus! I grew up with horses. I helped my daddy harness a team of horses many times and watched the team learn to work together pulling plows, wagons, sleds, and occasionally logs. There is always a lead horse. Things are great as long as that horse is allowed to lead, and they work together. Allow yourself to be harnessed by Jesus today and take His yoke. He defines Himself as gentle and humble in heart. As the lead horse teaches the weaker one how to pull, allow Jesus to teach you how to be gentle and humble in heart as you plow life together. It is so much easier to allow Him to show you how to walk in the straight lines of life. When we pull against Him and try to go our own way, the work load of life becomes to much for us to bear at times. I have seen those horses fall to their knees pulling the heavy load, as the lead horse would advance and enable them to stand again. May we fall to our knees today and find rest for our souls as we allow our gentle, humble Savior to put us back on our feet willing to follow His lead.
