Matthew 4:4
But He answered and said,
"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God."

Jesus had been fasting for 40 days and nights when He responded to satan as he was trying to tempt Him. How many problems we could solve as individuals and as a nation if we begin to follow Jesus’ example. We need to receive the revelation deep within ourselves that it is more important to feed our spirit with the words of life than our need and desire for food pertaining to the physical realm. Only the spirit of man is eternal. If we order our live’s priorities correctly we will not be using food to satisfy needs and hungers it was not created for.

Natural foods eaten in reasonable amounts is life sustaining for the human body. When we consume large amounts of empty calories, rather than what God created for us to enjoy and keep us healthy, obesity becomes the number one reason for most life threatening diseases.

In the 23rd Psalm we read,
"Give us this day, our daily bread."
May I encourage you to begin each day with the bread of life which is the Word of God. We must feast on Jesus. In the beginning was the Word and the Word was made flesh it tells us in John chapter one. If we allow our spirit man to become filled with the bread of life we will not be trying to meet unfulfilled needs with destructive gratification.

Jeusus then declared,
"I Am the bread of life. Whoever comes to Me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 6:35)

What a beautiful promise for those who are willing to come to Him. You will not be disappointed.
In His love.
