Isaiah 9:2
"The people who walk in darkness will see a great Light; those who live in a dark land, the Light will shine on them."
One of my greatest concerns at Christmas was that my children would miss the true meaning of Christmas. As their mother I desperately wanted to let them see the Light of the world in the midst of all the other lights clamoring for their attention. Would they truly grasp that Jesus is a far greater gift than anything they would unwrap from under the Christmas tree?
Isaiah 9:3 goes on to promise as we look upon the Light of the world He will increase our gladness, and we will be glad in His Presence. Let us turn our focus on the true meaning of Christmas for those we love. The Light of the world is the only perfect gift for everyone, and all can afford it; the price has already been paid.
