Jonah 2:2
"I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and Thou heardest my voice."
Jonah was in total disobedience when he prayed to God. Yet, God heard his cry, and allowed circumstances in Jonah’s life that caused His son to return home. Because of the repentance and delayed obedience of this obstinate, rebellious, son many were saved!
For those of us who have fled from God’s Presence to go our own way, let the story of Jonah be an encouragement, and see the heart of God for the rebellious and the lost. Embrace the discipline of God knowing He disciplines those who are His own. (Hebrews 12:6-11) Let us pray for His heart for the lost we are surrounded by like the people of Nineveh. Let us be quick to repent, and return to His Presence.

There is no greater joy in my own life than when my children and grandchildren come home, and return to my presence. 🙂
