"Therefore be imitators of God as beloved children, and walk in love just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma."
Ephesians 5:1-2
How marvelous for all of us to know God sees us as His beloved children. We can be comforted by those words as we are all still very much children in great need of the instruction and love of our Father. We are constantly admonished to love one another as Christ loved us which we are totally incompetent of apart from Him. Love requires sacrificing your desires to meet the needs of others.
Ultimately it is our love for Him that spurs us on to offer our lives as an offering and living sacrifice to God. It happens by making daily, moment by moment choices as we discipline our hearts and minds to stay aware of His Holy Spirit indwelling our being. What a beautiful thought to think our lives might become a fragrant aroma to our Heavenly Father. There can be no greater achievement in life to aspire for than that!

One of my favorite fragrant aromas in life is given off by the gardenia. It is so pleasing to the eye with luscious white blooms of purity giving off the most pleasurable, sweet, aroma.
May we become as the gardenia keeping ourselves in the light and warmth of the "Son’s" love. May we too bloom in His beauty and sweetness ushering in with our presence the fragrant aroma of Christ Himself pleasing the Father and each other.
