“Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, and in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.” Psalm 51:6

God desires us to know the truth about ourselves in the innermost part of our being. Unless we invite the Holy Spirit into that part of us, we will never know the truth about ourselves. No one but God sees the heart of man. There is no counselor other than the Counselor that can truly reveal the truth about you. The second half of this verse reveals He can then make us have wisdom in the hidden part of us. What part of yourself do you keep hidden from God? In reality we know nothing is hidden from God. That is a lie we choose to believe. The truth is nothing is hidden from God, and I find great comfort in that fact.

We have become a Bible illiterate society, so our government is filled with corruption made up of lies and deception. There are few leaders who understand the value of truth. You know why? We, proclaiming to be Christians, do not value truth. We, like the world, have made our own truths. There are no absolute rights and wrongs as God’s Word declares. So we have fallen into darkness. We are blinded to truth. It is no longer popular to be a Bible believing Christian, and most seek the approval of man much more than the approval of God Almighty. The result is the same rate of divorce in the church as in the world. The church today blends so well with the world no one can really see a difference, so why would they seek to follow the God we represent to them?

Our only hope for our families or government is to realize the value of truth. It is the key to salvation, redemption, and restoration. It is the Truth that sets us free –free from the lies and deception we carry deep within ourselves. David ends Psalm 144 with this verse:

“How blessed are the people who are so situated; how blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.”

Is your life situated in our Lord God? Psalm 51 is a Psalm of repentance. David had hidden his sin of adultery with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband, Uriah. (2 Samuel 11:12, 12:13) After an estimated time of one year David allows truth in the innermost being. He acknowledges and confesses his sin, and asks for forgiveness and is totally cleansed and forgiven. He is completely set free from the chains he couldn’t see that bound him. He is then given wisdom from God in his hidden part and imparts it to us.

What do you need setting free from today? What lies are you believing about yourself or others that keep you locked inside a prison only you and the Lord know about? The Word of God has all the answers to all of life’s questions. The Bible is the only book that holds the keys of truth to unlock you from your prison of lies and deception. Our hope is in the work God the Father accomplished through His Son, Jesus, by allowing us to be totally forgiven and cleansed from all our failures and weaknesses. (1John 1:9) His love was and is greater than any evil we can participate in. Take comfort in knowing this truth! God’s love is greater than any offense or hurt you have caused or you have been the victim of. Go into your prayer closet and stay awhile, and allow the Counselor, the Holy Spirit to reveal the truth in your innermost being that you might fulfill your purpose you were created for at such a time as this.
In His love.

The beautiful snow Christmas morning wonderfully reminded me of the power of the blood of Jesus David proclaimed in Psalm 51:7:

“Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”
