Galatians 4:4-5
"But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, so that He might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as son."

God’s timing is so different from ours. We look for convenience and comfort to determine right timing. His timing is always right even though it seems to never be the easiest. It appears the best time for the birth of Jesus would have been after the census was taken, so Mary and Joseph would not have to travel to Bethlehem with Mary on the back of a donkey in her last trimester ready to give birth. Only us mothers fully get that. Then when they get there, she is already going into labor, and there is no room in the inn. Jesus was born in a stable, and Mary and Joseph had no family there to share the moment.
Let us embrace the message of the Christmas story. God’s fullness of time is not determined by convenience and perfect circumstances. It is determined by listening and obeying His leading as Joseph and Mary prove so beautifully. Difficult circumstances cannot stop the will of God. He is sovereign, and we must have a sovereign trust for a sovereign God. His Son was born just as He desired. He became the Redeemer He was sent to be, and now we who are led by His Spirit receive full rights as true sons and daughters. (Romans 8:14) We cry Abba, Father!

O come all ye faithful!
Joyful and triumphant!
