Matthew 14:28
Peter said to Him, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water."
If you want to know the truth about the story of Jesus you cannot look to Hollywood film producers. They occasionally provide inspiring entertainment but veer off from what the scripture says. If you want to know the true, original script, as the scene with Peter attempting to walk to Jesus on the water, you must read the Bible for yourself. Look who is commanding Who in Matthew 14:28! Life as a "follower" of Christ works a lot better when we learn to follow. That means we have to stay behind Him, not take the lead as Peter did here. If Jesus had called Peter to walk on the water, I believe he would have walked on the water. Peter’s faith wasn’t yet ready for that. Jesus wisely allowed Peter to learn to listen to Him, and lovingly rescued him at his cry. Read the true account for yourself. Oh that we all may learn the humility and trust to be a follower of Him Who is always faithful, good, and trustworthy.
In His love.
