The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning; He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.” Isaiah 50:4
In Isaiah 50 God uses His true Servant, His Son, Jesus, as our example in this verse. However, we are joint heirs with Christ if we chose to become His bond slave as Christ did for the Father.
“And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”
Therefore I have experienced Isaiah 50:4 in my life. I truly am awakened morning by morning with an awareness of My Father’s love and knowing He has a fresh Word for me each day. Often times during my life time it has been the only reason I awakened, and He truly has sustained this weary one with the Words of Life only He can give.
I achieve the tongue of His disciple and go forth with the Words of Life to pass onto others He places in my path that day. This is how I have been able to go and make disciples of Christ by giving wisdom and counsel from His Word — rather than my own.
May I urge you to allow yourself to be awakened with an awareness that God wants to speak to you personally each morning. Practice makes perfect. Most often I hear Him speak through His Word. I open it expecting to be sustained and equipped for my day.
During times of darkness we carry inside of us the Light of the World. Allow yourself to be filled with Him before you have your coffee. It will give you and others a much more beneficial boost, and enable you to shine Light that will sustain the weary not only all day but eternally by faith!
In His love.
May your weary eyes be sustained with the resurrection beauty of spring and our hearts filled with hope as we focus on our resurrected King of Kings, and Lord of Lords!
