"If you, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him."
This is the verse my Father gave me as I earnestly prayed for Him to enable me to give my son the gift of sharing a marathon with less than a week’s notice. I knew without anything short of a miracle I could not finish 26.2 miles with only running seven mile runs for many months and no long distance runs. But I also knew God has continuously enabled me to do what seemed impossible ever since He became my Savior and Lord. As my niece, Valarie, said, "You have to get out of the boat before you can walk on water, and you are out of the boat!"
I made it to Goshen, Indiana, where Stephen is now living, and we ran our marathon in Spring Lake, Michigan.
My Father gifted His child to give to my dear son the gift he desired. We both finished our marathon winning our age divisions. What in your life is requiring more than you are capable of? What do you want to impart in someone’s life that you can’t do alone such as forgiveness? Allow the Lord to bestow His gifts in your life that you might share with others. There are no greater gifts we can give like the gifts that come from Him. How precious it was sharing His faithfulness and goodness in my life with my son, Stephen. May you ask Him, and experience His goodness and faithfulness to share with those you love.
In His love.
