‘Simon, Simon, behold, satan has demanded to sift you like wheat; but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers." Luke 22:31-32

These scriptures took on new meaning in my life as I have fought for over three weeks a severe case of sickness with all kinds of symptoms ending up in the ER twice. Being that sick puts you completely at the mercy of other people. We are totally vulnerable. I could relate to Peter as I read these verses this morning. I do feel I have been through a refining process that I know will be used for my good and the good of others. I know Jesus was there every moment no matter how difficult the circumstances became and continues to be.

When we take a look at Peter’s response to Jesus he declares:

But he said to Him, "Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death! And He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.

I am so thankful that the power of Christ is perfected in our weaknesses just as it was for Peter and for Paul. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 Paul declares:

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties for Christ’s sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong.

Allow God’s wonderful word to bringcomfort to us in our weaknesses knowing His power will be perfected in us. Then let us obey the instruction Peter was given. When we have come through, let us strengthen the brethren. May we all profess with Paul, in 2Timothy 4:7-8:

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. May we truly be counted among those who love His appearing fixing our hope on Him and His righteousness!

I have been extremely blessed with a large population of wild turkey this week! I actually counted a total of 43 turkeys!
