I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear I judge; and My judgement is just because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
What a power packed verse! Life is full of judgments we must make daily. Our judgments or decisions affect other lives as much as our own. We must sift our lives through the Word of God to walk in truth. His Word is truth. It holds the mysteries of life that can only be revealed through the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us multiple times He did nothing the Father didn’t tell Him to as He does here. We see He doesn’t make a judgement until He hears from the Father. He reveals His motives behind His judgments. He is seeking the will of God and not his own. Can we honestly say as believers we are seeking the will of God more than our own? One simple, profound verse to sift our daily lives through: Am I being led by the Spirit or am I doing my own thing running ahead of the Holy Spirit? As I am making these decisions, are they based from a heart seeking my will, or have I surrendered this choice to the will of God? How differently board meetings would look if we obeyed the Word of God and truly followed the teaching of Jesus. Please join me in realizing until I do this in my own life, as we pray the Lord’s prayer, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” will never happen. We are His hands and feet. Those who make up the living cells of the church are to be performing the Word of God as it is written. Let us cry out from the depths of our beings to allow Jesus to truly be the head of the church. In order for that to happen He has to be the head of our lives individually. God deliver us from being so SELF seeking and SELF serving in His name going about doing OUR good works.
In His love.
Find a quiet place He has provided for you, and spend intimate time hearing His heart instead of Him hearing yours for a change. We know He cares deeply about our every need, but do we care about His need to share His heart in order for His will to be done on earth as in heaven? I promise it won’t happen on our own.
