"O Lord You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were born, or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting You are God." Psalm 90:1-2
My heart’s cry along with Moses is that my family and I can say the Lord has been our dwelling place in all generations. Each generation is responsible to pass the baton, or it will be broken for the following generation. Think about the consequences from one man or woman’s rejection or disobedience to God’s love and wisdom for their life span on this earth! Will you leave behind a lasting legacy for your family of God’s love and wisdom? What could possibly be of more value to your children and grandchildren?
I am so thankful I was given a Christian heritage and a childhood in the Blue Ridge Mountains. I praise God for giving birth to these smaller, but magnificent mountains He allowed me to grow up in. I am also thankful for the time I had out of my mountains to see the rest of the world and meet a lot of different people from different walks of life. I learned there is beauty and good people everywhere as we choose God for our dwelling place wherever we reside. But as for me being able to return to the mountains I grew up in and spending this season of life enveloped in His love surrounded by the mountains He created for me remains to be ecstasy for this child. Psalm 90:14 declares:
"O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days."
How easy it is for me to rise each morning with the beauty and richness of a new day dwelling in the love of Who created it all knowing He is God from everlasting to everlasting. What a wonderful truth to pass on to our families. If we choose to dwell in an awareness of our heavenly Father and all the gifts He has given us through His creation then our families will not be robbed of the abundant life He intended us to have. (John 10:10)
Place your focus where it belongs this morning. Allowing Him to satisfy you with His lovingkindness will also allow your children and grandchildren to pass on the beauty of life that can only come from allowing Him to be our dwelling place from generation to generation!
