Colossians 2:8
"See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ."
During these turbulent times in this world I cling to an anchor of hope that will hold throughout eternity. I join Paul in Colossians, chapter two, praying our hearts may be encouraged, and will be knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
What anchor are you clinging to this morning? See to it no one takes you captive through vain philosophy and empty deception in a false hope according to this world, rather than according to Christ. All other options are false anchors of hope that will not hold in the turbulent, destructive storms of life whether figurative or literal such as Irma.
May I encourage you with a heart knitted in His to take hold of the wealth not of this world, but the wealth that is offered in the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of the mystery of Christ, that is, in Christ Himself, are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. It is an anchor of hope for our souls that is firm and secure eternally holding.
In His love.

I spent this weekend backpacking the Appalachian Trail from Massey Gap to Cabin Creek Junction just off the Virginia Creeper Trail. Friday night my camp consisted of a warm sleeping bag out under the stars and full moon slightly beyond Buzzard Rock, one of my favorite panoramic views in the world!
How glorious it was to temporarily leave this world for His. I lay there for hours watching Him perform as only He can. I watched a magnificent sunset in surrounding beauty beyond words! The stars began to gently appear one by one. Eventually a full moon made it’s debut depleting surrounding stars. How it renewed my soul and spirit, and restored my unfailing "anchor of hope."
