"And do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good, and acceptable and perfect." Romans 12-2

What a crazy time in this world we live in. In my life time I have never witnessed such depravity and evil corruption. If you listen to the media, or social networking, as most people do for information, you will despair and believe the exaggerations and blatant lies.

If you are a true follower of Christ your life should look differently from everyone else. Unfortunately I can’t tell any difference in the reactions I observe in the church from the world more days than not. Why is this? We have allowed ourselves to conform to this world rather than being transformed out of this world by the renewing of our mind’s with the Word of God.

Why do you think we are told in scripture not to conform to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds? It is because only then will your life and mine prove to others the will of God which is good, perfect, and acceptable. You will not find that promise in a political party!

I must silence everything around me in order to be refreshed and renewed by the absolute truths of God’s Word. In this ever changing world I know He will remain the same. His perfect love for us is unceasing. He is greater than our government. He is our Savior, not Uncle Sam. His people should be looking to Him to meet their needs. His promises to provide for me is my hope for the aging years; not social security. There is no such thing as "social security." It is far from secure!

May I admonish you to listen to His Words more than others. Turn the volume of life not just down, but off. Stop the conformity of flowing with the majority , and become one of the few Jesus spoke of in Matthew 7:13-14. Many will go the broad way that leads to destruction, but few will find the narrow way that leads to life. So are you on the road to conformity in this world which leads to destruction, or are you behaving as a disciple of Christ in order to discipline your mind to be renewed that you may find peace and life now and eternally? It is a decision you must make moment by moment daily.

"Teach us to number our days that we might gain a heart of wisdom." Psalm 90:12

In His love.

Did a couple of long distance runs this week on New River Trail from Fries, Virginia. Early morning runs by the New River are so incredibly peaceful, and oh so wonderful to collapse in after a long, hot, humid run!
