1 Timothy 6:18
"Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed."
As I read this verse this morning I thought of my own dear children. I strived diligently to teach them the Word of God and His ways. They came together this weekend at my home, and I was blessed as they gave generously, not only monetarily, but of those things that is life indeed. My son’s cut and loaded a huge dump truck of wood. They then drove the 2.5 hours, to my home where we unloaded it together with the help of my grandchildren. It was a true labor of love. It was a gift that cost much more than money. We were celebrating mine and John David’s birt, and my daughter loaded her 4 wonderful children, and drove the distance bringing a gift she had made herself.
As I sit in God’s Presence this morning my heart is so full of gratitude for answered prayer. I see His character in my children. I am able to see them being rich in good works, generous, and ready to share not only to me, but to each other. I realize this morning God has enabled us as a family to hake hold of that which is life indeed. Let us hold fast to His Word because He is faithful and true to His promises.
In His love.
After a wonderful meal together, and the wood was stacked, there was time for snowball fights, and multiple snowmen. 🙂
