Now all the tax collectors and the sinners were coming near Him to listen to Him. Both the Pharisees and the scribes began to grumble, saying, " This man receives sinners and eats with them."
Where would any of us be if Jesus would not receive sinners, and eat with them? We are all sinners! Jesus did not come to judge and condemn, but to save the lost from their sin and trappings. The religious leaders added more laws and rules to burden the people. They were self righteous and prideful lifting themselves above others. Jesus lowered Himself and lifted up the broken ones and set them free from all that hindered them. He broke all their rules. He healed on the Sabbath. Jesus wasn’t about rules. He was full of compassion and mercy for individual lives. Everyone mattered to Him. In Luke 15:1-10 He reveals His heart for the sinner. If we are followers of His we will exhibit the same heart. He gives it to us. A true follower of Christ led me straight to Jesus. Are you a lost sheep today that has gotten dirty from choosing wrong paths from the Shepherd? Know He will leave the ninety nine and go meet the one returning home. His Word says so.
I love all the small farms I am blessed to be surrounded by. They fill my heart with fond childhood memories.
