"Where can l go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? Psalm 139:7

Psalm 139 always draws me into an awareness of God’s love for me as an individual. This Psalm describes an intimacy He develops with His own. This intimate relationship is offered to all who choose to seek it as David did who penned this incredible Psalm. In the opening verse David declares God has searched him and known him. We are told He knows when we rise up and sit down. That He understands our thoughts from a far. We are told He scrutinizes our path and our lying down, and is intimately acquainted with all our ways! Even before a word is on our tongue He knows it all. How comforting this knowledge is to us as His children. He is engaged in our lives moment by moment each day. O that we might stay aware of this truth as we trod out our daily lives and the circumstances and temptations we are challenged by in day to day living.

I feel a great need for God’s protection more often than ever now. In verse 5 He informs us:

"You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me. "

As I envisioned this at one point in my life, I became greatly concerned for a protection beneath me. When I brought this to my Father’s attention I heard in my spirit:

"I Am the foundation you walk upon!"

I have never been concerned since. He and His Word enables us to not lack for anything if we know it. You must take the time to read this Psalm and be immersed in a beautiful love letter to you from Him.
As we look at our devotional verse this week and read the verses that follow it in Psalm 139 we are assured we can never be outside of His Presence. He is everywhere we may venture to. Verses 9-10 proclaim:

"If I take the wings of the dawn, If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me."

What blessed assurance! In verses 12-16 we are informed of who created us:

"For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Your works, and my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth; Your eyes have seen my unformed substance; and in Your book were all written the days that were ordained for me when as yet there was not one of them."

As we ponder these amazing truths concerning each one of us let us exclaim with David in verse 17:

"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! If I should count them they would outnumber the sand. When I awake I am still with you."

There should be nothing more precious to us than the thoughts of our God! His Presence never leaves us! Join me in magnifying our wonderful Father and elevating His promises above everything else in our lives. He can make us, and our lives so much more than we can ever imagine!
In His love.

Even though I am single, and live alone I never feel deprived of flowers being sent for my Father keeps me amply supplied!
