Rise up! Consecrate the people and say, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, for thus the Lord, the God of Israel has said, “There are things under the ban in your midst, O Israel, you cannot stand against your enemies until you have removed the thing under the ban from your midst.”
God cannot fight our battles for us when we have concealed sin in our lives as Achan did in Joshua 7. It affected the whole tribe of Israel. About 35 men were struck down as Israel fled in fear and shame. Are there things in your life that God has ban, and you are trying to conceal it? When we have hidden sin in our lives we tie God’s hands from being our defense. God cannot bless sin. Achan has his sin concealed from everyone but God. Let us learn from Achan’s mistake, and realize our sin doesn’t just affect us but all those around us. Allow the Lord to consecrate your life today as I am mine. None of us can afford to leave an open door for the enemy to walk through to destroy us and those we love. We cannot stand before our enemies with God as our defense until we consecrate ourselves in His Presence and love. Rise up, in order that we may stand for His glory!
In His love.
I spent a lovely weekend with my future daughter, Katelyn, who will be marrying my youngest son, Stephen, in October.
