1 Peter 3:15
"But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who ask you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence."

There is a difference in having Christ as our Savior as opposed to having Him sanctified as Lord in our hearts. It confounds me how He can remain our Savior without being Lord.

As Savior, we are guaranteed eternal life because we believe He is the perfect sacrifice, the Son of God whose blood reconciled us back to the Holy Father. But if we truly understand the love of God the Father and of His Son Jesus, how can we not sanctify Him as Lord in our lives?

To sanctify Christ as Lord in our hearts means we place Him first in all things. We allow Him His proper place and we love Him above all else. He alone is trustworthy, and He leads us into all truth. His love is unconditional, forgiving grace, and full of mercy. He alone can cleanse us daily from our unrighteousness. If we truly have Him as our Savior, how can we not sanctify Him as Lord in our hearts?

It is a love affair with no regrets. Place Him where He belongs this morning. Dethrone whatever has been taking His place. He alone is worthy!
In His love.
