Dueteronomy 29:29
"The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and our children forever, that we may observe all the words of this law."

God is sovereign. He is the ultimate source for all power, authority, and everything that exist. We, as mortal men, cannot begin to explain, or have full understanding of God Almighty.

There are times when we cannot understand why God has allowed things to happen. Sudden calamities cause us to doubt and question His ways. This verse tucked away in Dueteronomy gives insight for those times in life. The secret things belong to God, but there has been enough revealed in His Word to more than sustain us during these times.

We must follow David’s example when everyone turns against you in horrific circumstances as in 1 Samuel 30:6. The Amalekites had taken all their women and children captive, and his own men turned on him in bitterness and planned to stone him.

"But David strengthened Himself in the Lord his God."

During the times of no understanding of God’s sovereignty , we must observe the truths revealed in the Word by the Holy Spirit, and be strengthened in our inner man. We must inquire of God for wisdom, direction, and understanding that He has provided in His Word. It enables us to triumph in our faith based on what we do know:
He is a good, good Father who is perfect in all of HIS ways. A sovereign God requires sovereign trust for now, but soon we shall know fully as we are fully known. ( ! Corinthians 13:12)
In His love.

As I am forced to observe the cruelty of the effects of dementia in my precious Mother’s life, I am continually strengthened by the Lord, our God , and so is she. He and His Words remain faithful and true.
