"For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God."
Romans 8:14
In this verse as Paul defines true sons and daughters of God what qualifies them is present tense, "being led" by the Spirit of God. This isn’t a past tense verb. It is very much present tense. We must allow the Holy Spirit to go before us in our moment by moment lives, and we must learn to follow Him. There is a positional order that must take place as a shepherd with his flock of sheep — the sheep cannot go before the shepherd. If so, the sheep simply follow each other, and the results are losing their way eventually resulting in death.
We must keep the Holy Spirit before us as we do a flash light in darkness. The Light has to go before us to light the way on the journey we are trodding till we reach out destination. It truly is a combination of the Word of God and allowing the Holy Spirit to be a constant companion and teacher.
Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a Light unto my path."
Psalm 119:105
"But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." John 14:26
"But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come." John 16:13
Allow the truth of God’s Word to encourage your hearts during this trying time. The truth is we are more than equipped to go through any trial or tribulation in life this world presents. We have the Holy Spirit living inside of us, and we have the absolute truth of God’s Word conveniently available in many forms, written and audible. You must choose to focus and place the Word and the Holy Spirit at the fore front of your life. I can guarantee victory for you and your family! We always triumph in Christ Jesus. I leave you with the words Jesus left with the disciples:
These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may find peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD." John 16:33
