"The One who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life."
1 John 5:10-12

Through years of living life and reading my Bible I have come to understand these verses. God made everything about the Son, and the Son made everything about the Father. What a beautiful example for us on how to love one another.

God has given us His testimony concerning Jesus. Just recently studying Revelation emphasis of our testimony has made me realize it is the only way to be overcomers. It declares it is by the word of our testimony, by the blood of the Lamb, and loving not our lives unto death we overcome. We all should have a personal testimony of how God has changed our lives through believing in His Son. If we really believe the Bible we absolutely will have a testimony that burns within ourselves as John states here. I find it is what spills out of me, because it is too big to keep within myself. I believe that is the design of the Master. It isn’t difficult for me to share my personal relationship with my God at all with others, because it’s too great to hold within myself. His love is meant to be shared!

He also makes the sobering statement that if we do not believe God, we make Him a liar! I know God isn’t a liar; He is the very essence of truth. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I believe in the Word of God. There is nothing this world has to offer in comparison with what the Word of God does. Think about heaven. How heaven is described in the Bible is what we were created for. I do not want to miss eternity with my Father and my Lord and Saviour. More than anything I want my loved ones to be there along with all of mankind. God isn’t a liar whether we believe or not. Hebrews 6:17-20 proclaims:

"In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, so that by two unchangeable things in which is is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."

Titus 1:1-4 states:

"Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ, for the faith of those chosen of God and the knowledge of the truth which is according to godliness, in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised long ages ago, but at the proper time manifested, even His word, in accordance to the commandment of God our Savior, to Titus, my true child in a common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Saviour."

In Numbers 23:19 we read:

"God is not a man that He should lie, not a son of man that He should repent; Has He said and will not do it? Or has He spoken, and will not make it good?

It sickens me to think my life might cause someone to think God is a liar. He is not like us. He has taught me the value of truth. Even as a child I sincerely wanted to know the truth about life. It is how I came to know Him, pursuing the truth about life. First I had to find the One who is Truth and you must too. He taught me the true value of truth. I have tried desperately to always be honest, but sadly I have failed many times in my lifetime even in what seemed small ways. With God there are no white lies. Having been lied too often in my life, which always causes great pain, I greatly value the fact my God will never lie to me.

As a wife and mother it was my greatest offense to be lied to. It causes more pain when those you love most lie and deceive you. I think about how I hurt my Heavenly Father even more when I do the same. God always knows the truth. He can see in our hearts. He knows our every thought.

How glorious to know that because of His provision for us we can be forgiven and cleansed for all our failures. Though our sins are as scarlet, we can be washed white as snow. How my heart rejoices in that truth. Then I am quickly reminded freely I have received, and now freely I must give.

In the Lord’s prayer we are commanded to forgive others as we have been forgiven. When I allow the enemy to remind me of past hurts I have to immediately forgive as I have been forgiven. That is how you acquire a testimony of a changed life. Only God can enable us to forgive as we have been forgiven. Those who the Son is allowed to set free are free indeed! (John 8:36)

One of the greatest strongholds you can give the enemy of your soul is unforgiveness. It will hold you captive and the other person also. In my past when I had been devastated once again by one who had broken all their promises in our relationship, as I was crying out to God in all my pain He acknowledged what I was saying was true. He let me know He saw it all. Then He asked me this question:
"Did I pay enough?"
I had just recently watched "The Passion of the Christ." As I immediately recalled the scenes of a movie that diligently tried to reveal the crucifixion, I literally fell on my knees and wept saying, "You paid enough!"
That enabled me to put those sins of the offender under the blood of Jesus where my own were I had repented from.

I loved the mercy and grace Jesus had given to me, but I wasn’t able to do the same till He enabled me to with Truth. That Truth set me free that morning. It is not a one time experience. It has to become a way of life. I long to share the truths that God has given to me. Yes, I do have a long testimony of the goodness and greatness of God in my life. It is my life!

I do experience life even here on this earth, because He has taught me how to live life down here. My life is full, because I realize you can’t buy what really matters in life. It is free for all. My testimony is all about Him. I realize I have nothing worthy to give that compares with what He has to give for all. That is my testimony, and I pray you will allow Him to impart truth in your life and give you your own testimony to share with others.
In His love.
