2 Timothy 4:7
"I have fought the fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith."

These words were written as Paul knew his life in this world was about to end. He exemplified a life of obedience and faithfulness to the God he served through much suffering and tribulation. Yet, he triumphed, and prepared himself for his crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, Himself will award him on that day.

May I ask you this morning what rewards are you striving for? What will you be declaring as you approach the end of life on this earth? We must stop living for the moment and prepare for eternity. We are all eternal beings. Whether you believe it or not it will not change the truth. We will spend eternity in heaven or hell. No other options are available, again whether you believe it or not. We can do nothing against the truth. Let us not stay so distracted by the temporal pleasures and cares of life we lose sight of the eternal. May our lives, like Paul, be poured out as drink offerings to all who thirst for the living water.
In His love.

Even though I managed a strong finish in the Mayberry Half Marathon yesterday in Mt Airy, NC, even receiving an award, I remain very much aware I am still running THE RACE. Every fiber of my being is striving to keep my focus on the reward…"Then I shall know fully as I am fully known." ( 1 Corinthians 13:12)
