"These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage, I have overcome the world."
John 16:33
Peace is a priceless commodity that cannot be bought. All seek peace in their lives, but few find it. Sadly, this is true of believers as well.
Jesus has a lot to say to His disciples in John 16. He tells them the reason for this is so they may have peace that can only be found in Him. He warns them, in the world we temporarily live in, we will have tribulation. It is a fact. Our citizenship isn’t in this world. He then comforts us and them with these words,
"But take courage; I have overcome the world."
I speak from experience as I submit to you these words are true. As I meditate on Words He has spoken I find peace in this world of tribulation. Yes, my downtrodden heart takes courage knowing there is no greater power than the One I belong to and serve. No matter how out of control the circumstances in this world appear, in Him and His Words, I receive peace from my Prince of peace.
Would you like to have true peace this morning? Please join me in my fairy tale that is true! There really is a Prince who is coming for me and you on a white horse, and we will be rescued. He will take us to His perfect kingdom, and we will live happily ever after! The invitation is extended to all. I promise!
In His love.
