“seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of His divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.” 2 Peter 1:3-4
I spent much of this past week meditating on these two verses. Lets unwrap what these verses have for us. Through God’s divine power He has granted everything we need to obtain a life of godliness. It comes through gaining a true knowledge of the God who called each one of us by His own glory and excellence. The key is gaining the true knowledge of your Heavenly Father, personally, one on one. The intimacy it requires cannot be achieved by meeting in groups. It is only accomplished when you enter alone into His Presence through the Holy Spirit and into His Word. It takes time. For only by this true knowledge can He reveal to you His precious and magnificent promises made to the true bond slaves of Christ.
It will result in us becoming partakers of His divine nature. I so long for this to be true in my own life knowing it is the only way I can escape the corruption that is in this world and the lust of the flesh which wars against the Holy Spirit.
May you allow these verses to enter into the inner sanctuary of your being becoming an anchor of hope, secure and steadfast, as we face the storms of life this week. It is the only anchor that will hold.
