"Be imitators of God, therefore as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."
Hebrews 5:1-2
When we experience being loved by God, day in and day out, it produces in our hearts a desire to imitate Him. We want to give what we have received. This is very different from religion where we follow rules to seek approval from men as much as from God. He wants us to live life loving Him first and foremost and receiving His love. The end result is we love each other.
Because I know I am dearly loved by my Father, it enables me to live a life of love as He commands, We then follow His example putting others before ourselves, hopefully ushering in the fragrance of Christ as we offer ourselves to God as living sacrifices daily, or more like moment by moment.
May we spur one another on with the teachings of Christ as we enter this wonderful time of year. May we aspire to give gifts of eternal value that doesn’t involve debt and credit cards. Lets give our children, grandchildren, and those we love something greater than more "stuff." Let us aspire to give more of ourselves as we look to the most sacrificial gift ever given to mankind–the Son of God, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
In His love.

I was well aware of being a dearly loved child of God enjoying an early morning run of solitude surrounded by gifts only He can give. The greatest gifts are not monetary.
