"For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
This is a truth all of God’s children must be convinced of as Paul was. The love of God for you is found in Christ Jesus our Lord, if you have made Him Lord of your life–not just Savior. If He truly is made Lord of your life it will keep you in His love. There is nothing greater or more powerful than God’s love for His own.
The problem for us is free will. The one thing that can separate you from God’s love is your daily choices. He doesn’t move, but you do. His love is always steadfast and true. If we do not keep Him Lord of our lives, and we listen more to other voices than His we separate ourselves from the truth and begin to believe the lies of satan. If we spend more time with others than with God Himself , their influence will override the Holy Spirit’s leading. Then when difficult circumstances of life arise we listen to the accuser of the brethren which is satan; He is definitely the accuser of God as well. The end result is we separate ourselves from the love of God and actually blame Him!
Can you imagine the pain we inflict in the heart of God? If you have ever been a parent you have some idea. No one can hurt us as our children and spouses. The reason is we love them so much. We are created in God’s image. He designed and gave us the love we have for our family.
"He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us ALL, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?" Romans 8:32
Trust in God’s love for you and the truth of His Word. Do not allow circumstances or other people to rob you, or separate you from the love of God. We are to run into the arms of God during tragedies and traumas that usually come from bad choices made by ourselves and others. If He is allowed first place in all things no matter our circumstances we can have peace, and joy, through the love of Christ.
Read Romans 8:31-37 this morning, and allow the Holy Spirit to convince you through God’s Word of His love for you. Rather than magnifying the temporal things of this world, begin to magnify the truth of the eternal. It is a moment by moment choice that will enable you to never be separated from an eternal love that absolutely cannot be taken from you. Finally, good news!
