"Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words." 1 Corinthians 2:12-13
As we are being plunged into a new year in this world of uncertainties I hope you are motivated by these verses to seek the things freely given to you by God. If you are truly His child you are no longer condemned to live as the world. However, until we learn how to take the Word of God, and allow the Holy Spirit to help us combine His thoughts with His Words, we will never receive the knowledge and wisdom to walk in all that has been freely given to us through Jesus. This cannot be taught by human wisdom, academically. It is taught by the Holy Spirit. May we allow the Word of God to speak for itself:
"As for you the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but His anointing teaches you about all things and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him." 1 John 2:26-27
"But the Helper, the holy Spirit, who the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you." John 14:26
"But when He; the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak, and He will disclose to you what is to come." John 16:13
The greatest instruction for this new year is to allow the Holy Spirit to become your teacher, that He might reveal to you all of the things that have been freely given to you through Christ our Lord. Read His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to flood you with spiritual thoughts revealing to you the timeless, eternal wisdom of God in how to live not according to this world.
"Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing." Psalm 34:10
Allow Him to make this true in you and your loved ones lives in 2020!
In His love.
I so enjoyed celebrating New Year’s Day taking clients on a hike up Fisher’s Peak just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Such a rewarding afternoon for all!
